Festival of Filippi
This festival takes place in the ancient Philippos theatre in the months of July, August and September.
It is one of the most important festivals in our country and the primary cultural event of the prefecture. The festival was organized for the first time in 1957 and won public interest very quickly.
The festivals’ events include performances of ancient and contemporary theatre, concerts and performances of classic dance, whereas groups and orchestras of international fame are presented at the same time.
