Zarifios Teachers College -Alexandroupolis
Zarifios Teachers College with its neoclassic building, covers the western side of park of “National Independence”.
For more from half century (1923-1947), it was the unique superior intellectual institution in the all Western Thrace. With the personnel and its students it practised its cultural effect in the city of Alexandroupoli where graduated thousands schoolteachers that scattered the lights of learning in all Northern Greece. It was benefactored from donations of family of national benefactor Zarifi from which it took its name (Zarifios).
