Hatzidakis Winery
Hatzidakis Winery was founded in 1997 by Haridimos and Konstantina Hatzidakis.The winery is located in the village Pyrgos Kallistis on the road towards the church of Prophet Ilia. It is an original example of Santorini’s traditional architecture as it is built into the volcanic rock.
The vineyards are located in Santorini and most of them are on the outskirts of the village of Pyrgos Kallistis at a height of 150-300 metres and facing towards the north to north-east. The production of wine, an organic product, is part of the Hatzidakis family’s duties as the use of fertilizer components of unnatural origins and pesticides contain serious substances that pass from the soil into the plants, then to their fruits and finally to humans with damaging consequences for their bodies. For this reason since 1997 and still today, organic cultivation is applied to every linear vineyard that is planted. The same applies for older vineyards, both owned and rented, and their cultivation is switched to organic.
