Marathea Farm

Marathea Farm is close to Marathea Village, 10 kilometres from the picturesque harbour of Gytheion, in the middle peninsula of the southern Peloponnese.

On one side, the farm overlooks the sea and the rosy-fingered sunrise described by immortal Homer. In the opposite direction appears the imposing Tayetos mountain range. At Marathea you will find the other face of Greece; the non-tourist Greece where time seems to stand still, the Greece of nature, culture, creativity and inspiration. The pure air, the rare wild flowers, the plants, the ancient temples and classical theatres, the Byzantine monasteries and the churches in the region of Lakonia make your stay at the farm an unforgettable experience. There are not many places in Europe where the riches of Greek civilisation are so clearly seen as in the Peloponnese.

The broad, quiet beach lies on a distance of four kilometers of the Marathea farm. Once each day a bus commutes back and forth between beach and farm. Thus you can daily enjoy sun, sea and sand.

The building has eight twin-bedded studios, all with shower-room and kitchenette with fridge. The four ground floor studios have a veranda with a sea view. The first floor has a balcony with views of the Tayetos range. The drinking water is from the farm’s borehole.
