Skiing in Metsovo

Picturesque Metsovo is 55 km from the city of Ioannina and is a well-known winter resort. There are two organized ski centers, ‘Karakoli’ and ‘Profitis Ilias’, currently running, whereas a third one will be soon open to the public.

The ski centre ‘Karakoli’ has 2 runs, it is at an altitude of 1.350 – 1.520 m, 2 km from the centre of Metsovo.

‘Profitis Ilias’ ski centre is 5 km from Metsovo, on the highland of Politses, at the foot of Mt. Mavrovouni. It has 4 runs at an altitude of 1.430 – 1.620 m.
